A popular funding source for building projects is gift/grant funding obtained by donors. Generally speaking, the process for obtaining these funds specific to your space improvement will happen in one of two ways:
- In-Directly Related to the Building Project
- Gift/Grants can be obtained through a variety of scenarios prior to the conception of a space renovation. This allows us If the contractual intention of the Gift/Grant allows, these funds can be used to begin the building project process with a budget upfront, allowing for a faster , more promising deliverytimeline.
- Directly Related to the Building Project
- If the need for a space improvement is identified prior to receiving funds, this will require the requesting department to work with Alumni Relations UW Foundation and run a campaign with their respective donors. More often than not, Donors will want to see renderings and plans to understand what they are getting the intentions for their donationcontribution. To create visual aids and resources for the campaignDonor engagement, the WSB Facilities Project Manager will need to initiate the process to hire an A/E firm to for a pre-design of the space at the expense of the requestor:
