Wisconsin School of Business Temperature
- Public Spaces and Classrooms - The temperature within the building is set to a standard 72 (+/- 3) degrees. This is controlled at the campus level by DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and are negotiated during our proposal with to the state for the campus energy budget. This can be changed temporarily (usually for an event) but will remain consistent throughout the year.
- Offices and Breakout rooms - The majority of these spaces are able to be controlled from within the room using the thermostat. These do not fall under the 72 degree standard that our public spaces abide by. With that said, please be sure to set these appropriately and limit the waste of energy.
- Public Spaces, Classrooms, Offices, and Breakout Rooms - The air and heat for these spaces will remain on all year round. It was determined that this is the most efficient way to keep the School of Business at a consistent temperature and control the moisture in the air. If you feel that your air/heat are constantly running on a given day, please send us a request to investigate.
Paint Touch-ups
- Suite and Office Spaces - When requesting paint touch ups it must be understood that if the paint is not original the department will be responsible for covering the charge of the project. When forwarding these requests to Physical Plant, we will always ask for this to be done as a maintenance request, but it will ultimately be determined by them.
- Things that you will always be charged for
- Patching holes from picture hanging.
- Damage done by moving furniture.
- Repainting a wall a different color.
- Building and Public Spaces - Anytime damage is noticed in a public space, we encourage you to notify us in Facilities to address. We set aside a budget anticipating repairs such as wall patching and touch ups to occur. We want to keep a crisp and clean image in the public's eye so any help with this is appreciated.
Furniture Purchasing
- All furniture purchasing should be routed through the Facilities Department. If you happen to have the specs of your potential order you can send them to us for a quote. This will help us better plan for your install and furniture moves if necessary.
- Before we decide to purchase furniture we ask that you view our storage first. We have numerous desks, tables, chairs, etc that could possibly work for you. The ultimate benefit of this is that your department will have the potential to save money for all of the storage is free of charge.
- Any damaged furniture you would like fixed will need to be brought to Facilities attention. We may be able to get something done under warranty or come up with an in house solution. We would like to be notified of these issues before they turn into a liability.
Package Shipments
- The Wisconsin School of Business Facilities Department is responsible for the transition of mail/packages between couriers and WSB occupants. The School of Business is not a general pick up site for shipping services, however they do deliver on a regular basis. To ensure that packages leave in a timely matter, we ask when shipping out packages using FedEx, UPS, or any other shipping service, that you indicate the shipping as a pick up. This notifies the chosen service that they have a package to pick up and deliver from our location. The process of indicating a pickup or drop off for a package will be an option on the shipping service's website when creating a shipping label. If you have any questions regarding shipping and receiving for the School of Business, please contact our Facilities Department at 608-262-2972 or Fssupport@wsb.wisc.edu.
