When on-boarding or relocating within the School of Business the Facilities team is able to help with your office move. In order to initiate this request please submit a Facilities Service Request through the WSB Support Portal

Prior to the Move

In order to prepare for your move, our team will work with you to schedule an anticipated move date. We will need to know the office that you are moving from and the office that you are moving too. At this time, Facilities will need to be aware of any personal furniture that will follow you to your new space. For the sake of efficiency, if your new space already has a desk, bookshelf, file cabinets, etc. we will leave your existing furniture within the office you are moving out of. This helps us with time and potential damages to the furniture or building. Note: Facilities will not assist with packing your personal items, but will move them for you once they are contained in a package. This will protect the integrity of your belongings and free up time for the Facilities Department.

Within the time that you are waiting to relocate, our team will be able to provide supplies to make your move easier.

Moving Supplies Provided Upon Request:

  • Empty Boxes
  • Shrink Wrap
  • Packing Tape
  • Carts/Dolly's
  • Confidential Shredding
  • Recycling
  • Garbage Removal
  • Vacuum

Depending on your situation, there may be other items needed to successfully complete your transition into your new space. If this is the case please inform our Facilities Team of the need.

Day of the Move

Prior to the day of the move, our team will confirm the date/time that mobilization can take place and prepare your new office for your arrival. At the specified time, Facilities will begin to move your items from your current office to your new one. Note: All personal items must be packaged in order for our team to move them. If any aspect of what is being moved or when you are to be moved changes, please inform Facilities as soon as possible.

After the Move

Once you are in your new space, Facilities can re-arrange your furniture however works best for your work ethic. They are also able to clean surfaces, add/remove furniture, hang pictures/whiteboards/bulletin boards, and/or vacuum upon request. 

In order to get keys for your new space, Facilities will need to collect the keys from you prior office. For more information on requesting keys, please see our Key Request policy.

Additional Items to Note

  • Office moves are done during our during our business hours (M-F 7:00AM to 4:30PM)
  • Depending on the time of year, a request to move may take up to 20 business days
  • When moving out of your office be respectful to the occupant
    • Don't leave additional trash/furniture
    • Try to move on the initial date that is set
    • Report any issues noticed with the office to the Facilities department for repair
  • All Office Moves are subject to an approval process. Requests may be denied depending on the needs of other Departments or the Building.
